Car Wash
At most Benzina filling stations motorists have the option of giving back an original shine and immaculate appearance to their cars thanks to modern car-washing installations. The type of wash differs according to the size and importance of the filling station. In 2006 and 2007 Benzina launched 36 new car washes and a further 18 will be exchanged this year. Thanks to this rate of modernisation, more than half of the Benzina automatic car washes will be less than two years old.
Benzina filling stations offer three types of washes:
- Portal car wash - this is the most common type of installation; the car stands with the hand break engaged; the washing frame with rotating brushes moves along. The wash cycle takes 6 to 8 minutes, depending on the selected programme.
- Tunnel car wash - the car moves on a conveyor; the advantage of the tunnel car wash is its high capacity of up to 400 cars a day.
- Manual jet wash - self-service wash boxes for manual washing with an economical option, generally designed for daily car maintenance.
Advantages of car wash systems
What are the advantages of an automatic system?
Washing the car is an inseparable part of its maintenance. During the washing process not only surface dirt is removed, but also dirt from those parts of the undercarriage that are otherwise difficult to reach; also, the body can be treated with a protective film.
Washing a car in a car wash is economical. One wash uses 160 to 200 litres of water, depending on the selected programme.
